Notes
The
Sea
Grill
,
located
on
1619
Northeast
4th
Avenue
in
Fort
Lauderdale
, was a
landmark
seafood
restaurant.
The
restaurant
opened
in
1959
by
Edward
Wolchick
Sr.
and was
run
by the
family.
It
was
first
located
on the
corner
of
16th
Terrace
and
Sunrise
Boulevard.
When
business
was
thriving
in
1964
,
Wolchick
moved
his
business
across
the
street
from
Fort
Lauderdale
High
School.
When
the
restaurant
closed
in
1987
, a
former
customer
commented
that
"It's
nice
when
you
go
into a
place
and the
family
knows
you
and
all
the
employees
know
you.
They
watched
me
grow
,
my
children
grow
and
now
my
grandchildren.
I
felt
sad
when
I
heard
it
was
closing.
It
was
like
a
part
of
my
life
was
closing.''
The
restaurant
was
turned
into an
annex
for
North
Side
Elementary
School
in
1989.
