NotesSeminoles built camp fires by placing the ends of four logs together and arranging them like the spokes of a wheel. The kindling in the center was lighted and as the logs burned slowly away, they were pushed up towards the center again. When it was desirable to lower flames of the camp fire, it was done by drawing the logs back a few inches; the fire soon died down.
