Title Northern Illinois University: University Libraries: Rare Books and Special Collections: Comic Book Collections Notes The comic book collection is based around a large donation of a single collector. Much of our comic book collection dates from the 1970s, although there are earlier and later issues. We do not hold a significant number of Golden Age or Silver Age comics. A large portion of the collection is minimally processed, and there are gaps in runs of titles. We continually add to this collection, chiefly through donations. Recent acquisitions include full runs of Strangers in Paradise and Cerebus in trade paperback format, and autographed copies of a short Scary Godmother run in single issues. We also have a small but growing cache of original comic art. Subject Comic books, strips, etc. -- United States. Young adult fiction. Graphic novels. Fantasy fiction.
