History of Broward
County Broward County Library's Second eBook!
This
historic account of the creation and growth of Broward
County was written as one of the Works Progress
Administration (WPA) Federal Writers’ Project publications.
During the Great Depression, the Federal Writers’ Project
provided employment to struggling writers such as Francis H.
Miner, the Miami-based editor who wrote and researched
The
History of Broward County. The manuscript is housed at
the Bienes Museum of the Modern Book at Broward County Main
Library along with many other books and artifacts from the

Catalogs of James A. Findlay Broward County Library's First eBook!
This
brief survey of catalogs provides an exciting look back at
publications that Jim Findlay (1943-2010) wrote, edited or
contributed to in some capacity. Jim and his colleagues
produced a varied array of exceptional print pieces, at
times in collaboration with expert collectors. What remains
impressive is the range and scope of the subject matter,
presented with in-depth scholarship and encased in an
intriguing wrapper.
