About the Collection

Bountiful Broward: Eating in South Florida, 1880s – 1980s is open to the public from December 7, 2011 to March 31, 2012 at the Bienes Museum of the Modern Book, Broward County Main Library, 6th floor. It was prepared in collaboration with the Broward County Historical Commission.

The exhibition traces Broward County’s history through cookbooks, menus, photographs, postcards, kitchen collectibles, books, and rare artifacts. South Florida’s cuisine has been shaped by many cultures, strengthened by the bounty of the land and waters, and transformed by developments in agricultural practices and food processing. Bountiful Broward shows food items and cooking trends that define the County’s eating and dining traditions. View virtual tour.
